Technical Training Author

Reporting to the Training Manager you are required to design and produce adult classroom and workshop based technical learning to the very highest standards.

Your ideas and designs will meet a standard that encourages learning to inform and to develop apprenticeship curriculum for automotive technicians.

Duties/responsibilities:

* Source information and communicate at a professional level.
* Utilise authoring and software tools
* Devise training solutions which satisfy diverse ranges of competencies.
* Author text and activities to simplify complex systems
* Design draft graphics/animations to support your work to issue to technical illustrators
* Produce effective PowerPoint presentations
* Work to tight deadlines
* Work under your own initiative with minimal supervision.

Candidate:

You will possibly be a technical trainer or Instructional Designer with experience of developing/authoring training material. You will join and work within the new apprenticeship course design team; you will be a strong team player contributing ideas and suggested solutions. You will also be required to work independently; a very keen eye for detail and quality is essential.

To be successful in this role you must have:

* At least 5 years experience in technical training
* Excellent training delivery and facilitation skills
* A commitment to effective team working
* The ability to prioritise your own workload and deliver to agreed deadlines
* A working knowledge of MS Office programmes
* Strong IT skills in general
* Excellent communication skills verbal and written
* Good organisational and time management skills
* A positive attitude and 'can do' approach
* Experience in XML authoring software (not essential)

Expected qualifications:

* Adult learning qualification CIPD/City&Guilds
* An understanding of Nation Vocational Training
* Good English, written and verbal
