Technical Support Analyst - WebSphere Commerce, WCS, WAS, ANT

Technical Support Analyst required to join Salmon. This is a role working for a digital agency responsible for the delivery and support of a large number of high profile E-commerce applications. We are looking for individuals who have experience in this arena and are looking to expand their technical ability to make their mark in a diverse and expanding team.

The challenges you will face include supporting some of the most visited websites in the UK and implementing solutions to help improve their operations.

ROLE

Candidates will be working in a growing team of technical experts looking at all aspects of support and delivery of business as usual operations across both supported accounts and projects.

The candidate must have the experience and drive to implement support and service change where applicable and work with a diverse team to create excellence in the Application Management Support group in accordance to Salmon and ITIL working practices

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Ideally the successful candidate will have extensive experience working in a 3rd to 4th Line support function and a good understanding of the architecture and issues about operating solutions in a web multi-tiered environment and have knowledge across the some of the following:

- UNIX flavours, AIX, Linux, Windows
- Scripting
- SQL knowledge
- Exposure to Java applications
- IBM WebSphere Application Server (IBM WAS)
- IBM WebSphere Commerce (IBM WCS)
- Tomcat

It would be desirable if the candidate has any experience in the products below (or similar Web Server, Application Server or Middleware products):

- IBM Http WebServer or Windows IIS
- Installation/Build of software applications
- Oracle or IBM DB2 Databases

As a minimum we would expect the candidate to have:

- Technical experience of supporting and maintaining an IBM Web Commerce solution including the IBM WCS and IBM WAS software stack
- Competency in creating and maintaining scripts in ANT, Jython or Python Scripting languages
- Solid problem-solving skills and a willingness to look at different types of issues.
- Methodical approach to troubleshooting
- Ability to support other team members in root cause analysis
- Experience in Scripting on one of the operating systems mentioned above as well as exposure to either DB2 or Oracle and have supported to some level a web multi-tiered system of some technology.
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as and when required.
