Technical Strategic Advisor

Technical consultant - Central Scotland - Part time Contract - 3 months My client, a new but quickly emerging organisation focussing on energy efficiency are seeking a technical consultant to develop strategic plans for the improvement of IT systems central to their business. As this is a new start organisation their budget is limited, however the individual would only be required on a consultative basis for two or three days per week. This will allow applicants to peruse other part time contracts elsewhere. Additionally the content and title of this role will likely improve your marketability for future senior roles. Key Responsibilities: * The individual will initially be required to critically evaluate the current software and its suitability, ultimately determining a strategy for development. * Identify new streams of revenue / new business development through contact with clients to assess unmet needs. * Collaborate with clients to develop solutions to emerging business issues. Required Skills: * Previous experience developing technical roadmap's for SME's * Excellent communication skills * A background in programming/ development, specifically -PHP, Ruby (RoR), Javascript, HTML, CSS, .NET * Working knowledge of MySql, T-Sql * Experience of debugging code This role would suit a technical professional / consultant with a background in programming who has previously managed IT implementations; a technical BA; or an experienced programmer with client facing experience. This may also suit candidates who are currently working on ad-hoc or part -time projects and can therefore undertake this role as an additional project.
