TECHNICAL SPECIALIST/6 MONTHS/RIJSWIJK, THE NETHERLANDS

Technical Specialist urgently required for one of my clients for an initial period of 6 months to be based in Rijswijk, the Netherlands.

In this role you will mainly be responsible for supporting the global Technical Storage infrastructure across more than 20 locations for subsurface applications used by the Client Exploration and Production professionals.

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

- Close working relationship with the end users and IT outsourced suppliers to deliver a stable end to end service
- End to End problem management and monitoring across the storage environment.
- Support the infrastructure directly or in close cooperation with outsource service provider

REQUIRED SKILLS - MUST HAVES

- Good Exposure to Storage Technologies
- Operational support experience with NetApp and/or EMC Isilon Storage.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory and DFS
- Infrastructure hosting skills focused on the Redhat Linux OS and/or Windows
- Linux and/or Windows System management experience
- Good knowledge of NAS, Network Attached Storage, in particular NFS and CIFS protocols
- Knowledge of Linux and Windows file permissions
- Pro-active attitude - propose and execute technical and service related improvements.
- Customer focused and pro-active attitude - enjoy customer facing, taking end-to-end responsibility.
- In-depth analytical and troubleshooting skills on a variety of platforms.
- Open to new challenges and good adaptability to various technical environments
- Experience participating in a virtual team of people delivering services/projects
- Language: English
