Technical Solutions Architect

The Technical Architect will work closely with the Domain Solution Architect in providing technical recommendations and expertise about supporting systems and assist in modifying existing systems based on analysis in order to gain capacity and improve performance. They will also provide technical expertise in relation to the strategies for future automated passenger clearances.

The Technical Architect will build and manage technical relationships with key executive stakeholders and delivery teams to provide direction on technology assessments, design principles and architectural compliance to ensure investments and deliverables meet organisational and business needs.

The Technical Architect will work across multiple projects within the program and report directly to the Director, Enterprise Architecture (EA).

THE ROLE:

- provide technical architecture services on behalf of the Domain Solution Architect to ensure the successful delivery of the program/projects
- develop, execute and take ownership of a solution strategy
- shape, design and plan software/hardware implementation to support the projects
- act on behalf of EA in providing technical leadership, guidance and recommendations on the technical direction of the program/projects
- act as a bridge between EA and the project team in the implementation of the solution
- provide subject matter expertise, acting as a technical visionary and strategist when designing project solutions
- ensure the technical architecture and software/operating design is in accordance with Enterprise Architecture (EA) principles. This includes applying EA design patterns, standards, and principles

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

- Proven experience in the design of Enterprise and solution artefacts for the delivery of major government initiatives that combine both technology and business change.
- Ability to provide a methodical approach or use a systematic framework in identifying, collating, reviewing, prioritising, developing strategies for issue identification or issue remediation as they relate to architectural considerations
- Exhibit the ability to share and communicate ideas verbally, both orally and in writing to executive staff, business sponsors, and technical resources in clear concise language that is relevant to each group.
- Have excellent written and verbal communications skills, as well as the ability to act as a liaison between the information technology group and business managers.
- This position must also work well in groups, have strong negotiation skills and be highly analytical.
