Technical Server Analyst - Newcastle

Position: Technical Server Analyst - Newcastle
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, England
Technical Server Analyst required to work on a contract near Newcastle for an initial two month duration.

Your role will be to provide Technical Server expertise on the management of the distributed Microsoft Windows Server estate including AD authentication services, Exchange corporate email, Citrix Server Infrastructure, Blackberry Enterprise Server, FTP/SFTP/Connect Direct File Transfer Services, Rightfax Digital Faxing, DNS/WINS, Microsoft Clustering, SRDF-CE Clustering, Avocent DSView, PGP Encryption, McAfee Anti Virus & RSA Token Authentication.

You will also have specific responsibilities including the planning, installation and administration of hardware and software solutions to appropriate standards, provision of system deployment/ monitoring solutions, fault diagnosis, capacity planning, and disaster recovery.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Very good working knowledge of Server hardware and configuration.
Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Servers infrastructure and operation.
Very good working knowledge of Microsoft clustering technology and integration Network and SAN infrastructure.
Very good working knowledge of the following standards based protocols FTP, SFTP, WINS, DNS, LDAP, SNMP & SMTP.
Very good working knowledge of IP communications and the relationship to server architecture.
Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Server monitoring and diagnostic processes.
Very good Analytical and problem management skills.
Project management skills.
Knowledge of server infrastructure trends within the industry
Knowledge of unix and novell operating systems would also be advantageous
