Technical Safety Engineer VI

One of the world's leading EPC Oil supervises the engineers, designers and CAD persons assigned to the project, and arranges for reviews of design calculations for accuracy, neatness, and compliance with project design criteria. Participates in design reviews (e.g. HAZID, ENVID, and HAZOP). This would be as facilitator or as Technical Safety representative if the review session is facilitated by others. Prepares client reports / documentation on the project work conducted. This includes philosophies, analysis work, safety engineering calculations, design reviews, Performance Standards and specifications. Prepares Formal Safety Assessment studies, prepares Safety Cases (if required). Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science required, Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred. Master's degree preferred. Typically 10-20+ years of relevant experience. General interest in developments in the field of Technical and Process Safety. Detailed knowledge of the application of inherently safer design and risk-based design on projects. Thorough understanding of concepts of process shutdown, fire and gas detection, relief / flare systems, passive / active firewater protection, and emergency response - for most of these systems knowledge can be applied on projects. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in Fire Protection Engineering and life saving equipment, as it applies to Offshore Oil and Gas platforms.
