Technical Project Manager

The PROJECT MANAGER/TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER is responsible for leading project completion from design (including technical mechanical/material and process) phase to implementation of enhanced air and road transport equipment solutions providing expanded new pool services for Members and participants.

The Project Manager is responsible for leading a workgroup of Member Posts throughout the enhanced equipment development cycle(s) and seeking and engaging with equipment vendors, Carriers, handlers and other 3rd parties in ensuring their contribution towards achieving the objectives. The scope of responsibilities includes completion of feasibility assessments considering the replacement of current equipment with enhanced box-type air and road transport equipment. Also the building of business case(s) supported by Member Posts representatives to help Member Post' Executives to commit to participation in new enhanced equipment pool service(s).

The ideal candidate has worked in a technical (mechanical/material and process) project management role and has Supply Chain, Air Cargo, Air Carrier Industry, Postal and/or Express Transport sector experience. The optimizing cargo loading processes air and road and identification and tracking of equipment. The ideal candidate would also have knowledge/experience of application development, identification and tracking technologies to manage the adaptation and/or development of a supporting pool management system.

CORE EXPERIENCES:

- experience in taking an international project from design to implementation
- experience in leading and promotion of international initiatives
- experience/knowledge of materials and techniques to produce packing material/transport equipment
- experience in transport operational processes (for example air cargo, aircraft and road vehicle loading, postal/express transport equipment manual and mechanised handling processes, pallet/container pools, packaging)
- experience in an international supply chain/logistics environments
- experience in managing vendor and other 3rd party participation

OPTIONAL EXPERIENCES:

- procurement (European Public Tender, or equivalent)
- management of transport related pool services
- knowledge of different packing materials
- experience with tracking solutions for equipment
- application project management
