TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER

A Technical Project Manager with project and defence experience is required to work on a six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Cumbria.

This is a 6 month contract working for a UK leading defence company.

OVERVIEW OF THE TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER CONTRACT ROLE

- Set the strategy for defining a set of useable Non Functional Requirements taking into account the constraints that are in place.
- Provide input into the overall project plan to implement the agreed strategy.
- Manage up to 7 small teams to define Non Functional Requirements for a major business change and IT programme.
- Manage the teams to define the solution design to meet those Non Functional Requirements.
- Liaise with other parts of the business to identify and secure subject matter experts to support the work.
- Identify issues and risks and take action to address or raise through the project's management team for support.
- Ensure the delivery of the solution relating to Non Functional Requirements is completed to time.
- Take an active role to ensure the testing phase of the project is planned and implemented to validate the Non Functional Requirements.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER

- Strong project management skills
- Understanding of Requirement elicitation and definition
- Experience across IT project life cycle

The role is based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria - commutable from Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith, Workington, Whitehaven and The Lake District.
