Technical Program Manager

Our hugely popular client is seeking a TECHNICAL PROGRAM MANAGER with industry standard server technology and data center management experience. This individual will collaborate with online service engineering teams, data center managers and server technology suppliers to identify industry standard server solutions that meet performance, cost, efficiency and reliability requirements for the client's online and cloud services. This individual will work with engineering teams and industry to identify and set server technology standards, and will ensure that discrete and racked server solutions meet power density, air flow, electrical and operational criteria for use in large enterprise data centers. When server technology problems arise, the candidate will take point on driving mitigation, root cause investigation and problem management.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Interact with business engineering teams to understand server configuration requirements
- Create specification documents to capture server configuration requirements
- Work with supply chain and supplier teams to validate specifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Five years' experience with enterprise IT/industry standard server technology
- Two years' experience with either enterprise scale or web scale service management
- Working knowledge with a majority of the following technologies: Intel and AMD CPU and chipset architectures, RAID, SATA and SAS, MLC/SLC/PCIe SSDs, 10GbE network technologies
- In-depth experience with IIS, SQL Server, Windows OS
- Comprehensive view of service life cycle and delivery
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills required
- BS/BA in Computer Science, engineering, business or related field or equivalent experience
