We are currently recruiting for up to 4 TECHNICAL OPERATIONS ANALYST S for an initial contract duration of 6 months.

This positions purpose encompasses the operation of a client focused Data Center environment which balances the requirement for business led change with the need to ensure that systems maintain high availability and low risk of information loss.

DAY TO DAY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Monitoring of access requests to Data Centre facilities.
- Access authorisation and physical site access workflow.
- Reconciliation of Access control logs.
- Monitoring of Tape backup facilities (Silo) and replenishment of tapes as required.
- Preparation of backup media for secure offsite/onsite storage, retrieval and destruction.
- Use of Asset management systems for installations, decommissions and relocations.
- Facilitation of the assignment of rack space, physical installations and cabling, and asset tracking controls.
- Monitor problem management and service request tools.
- Act upon any requests including updating/closing of tickets upon completion.
- Escalation of problems in line with documented escalation procedures.
- Change Control evaluation of potential impacts or risks to DC operations from proposed changes to production and development systems.
- Monitoring of services in the Data Center with problem identification and logging as appropriate.
- Monitoring of Environmental protection for data centre facilities including fire, water, power and other environmental controls.
- Ensure the Data Center is always a safe, secure and low risk working environment with reference to Company standards, policies and OH&S regulations.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE YOU NEED TO DISPLAY THE FOLLOWING SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

- Experience (2+ years, operator, 7+ senior operator) of working within computer operations departments or Data Center environments.
- Professional client service skills to effectively assist clients either by telephone, email or in person.
- Strong working knowledge of personal and networked computer systems, computer infrastructure and security.
- Proven ability in the setup and configuration of data center infrastructure builds
- Experience in developing and implementing IT facility standards
- Familiar with business continuity and disaster recovery principles
- Knowledge of cabling and patching practices
- Mainframe processing and operations
- Knowledge of change management systems and processes
- Experienced in working in a high-paced environment
- ITIL Foundation Certification or solid experience working in an ITIL environment desirable.
- Accuracy with a strong attention to detail.
