Technical Lead (Q5)

A new long term contract opportunity has arisen for a Technical Lead to join this large scale and very well recognised Queensland Government Department based in the heart of the CBD. The Technical Lead will be joining the organisation to assist with the design, development and review of ICT solutions through an ICT governance life cycle as well as manage the provisioning of resources within the various development/test labs to production environments.

Further Key Responsibilities for the Technical Lead to perform will be as follows;
Work collaboratively with, or under direction of, Project Managers and Solutions Designers to ensure that each design has been fully considered for both application and infrastructure implications and the resources to implement changes. Lead, coordinate, build and deploy new solutions through Preproduction to Production environments, ensuring consistency with specified requirements. Provide ICT consultative advice and guidance on technical and commercial issues, to ensure that clients, suppliers and other stakeholders understand and agree what will meet the needs and appropriate service level agreements are defined. Undertake and participate in the preparation, development and delivery of comprehensive and detailed technical documentation and project product deliverables. Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, plans, strategies and procedures relating to the delivery of ICT infrastructure, and its associated operations, for the achievement of best practice in the utilisation of departmental information resources. Contribution to the design, development and deployment of the Microsoft centric solutions and their integration into the Managed Operating Environment (MOE). Contribution to the design, development and deployment of networking solutions that contribute to an efficient and effective MOE. Evaluation and verification of proposed third party based software and its suitability against the Managed Operating Environments (MOE) and ICT infrastructure. Ensure compliance to the ICT Project Lifecycle phases (based on PRINCE2) as utilised within the department. Maintain, apply and ensure compliance to the principals of the Information Technology Information Library (ITIL) framework utilised within the department. Participate in the development, maintenance and delivery of training to ICT staff on new solutions. To be successful for this role you will require the following key experience and skills; Demonstrated experience with large and complex MS Active Directory implementations Demonstrated experience with large Identity and Access Management technology implementations Demonstrated experience with: - Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 - SQL Server 2005/2008/2012 - VMware (or other) virtualisation technologies Demonstrated experience and understanding of networking technologies demonstrated experience and understanding of Microsoft centric technologies including two or more of the following product.
