Technical Lead Advisor - Java Development

Position Summary
Provide technical Leadership in application development including analysis, design and development. Lead in the establishment of and adherence to the design/coding standards, guidelines and best practice. Research, evaluate and recommend new technologies. Acting as a Java expert, mentor team members, perform design/code review and provide expert guidance in resolving complex requirements. Design applications critical to the operations by, incorporating peripheral knowledge of other applications and related technologies in the analysis and design of complex solutions. The Advisor is proficient in all critical functions for the application(s) assigned, and is expected to champion SDLC methods and best practices on the team to ensure that quality standards are met. Responsible for designing, developing and implementing technical solutions, which includes coordinating with Vendors, ensuring and adhering to all established methodologies, standards and guidelines, including but not limited to: analysis & design documents, program specifications, test plans and results, design, code, testing, debugging, and documentation of those programs while delivering assignments within specified time frames. Ensures handover of the solution or system to the production support team.

Qualifications
At least 10+ years of application development utilizing Java, J2EE and SQL in UNIX environments. Solid experience with UIs, hierarchical and relational databases, and full SDLC. Expert knowledge in Java, J2EE, Spring, JSF, Hibernate/JPA. Senior level experience with relational database. Experience writing high performing/complex SQLs.
7 years with Java, J2EE, JSP, 5 years with Spring, Struts, 3 years with JSF, Hibernate/JPA, 5 years DB/SQL (UDB preferred), 3+ years of Tech Lead. Sun Certification is a big plus. Experience with Informatica, Actuate, or Microstrategy is a plus. Experience leading team of developers from onshore and offshore is a plus. Able to effectively share information and
mentor others. Technical leadership, facilitation, critical thinking, problem solving, decision making and analytical skills required. Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required, one additional year of experience is required for each year of college not attained. Experience Senior level experience with design/development of large scale J2EE based application. Demonstrated leadership in SDLC or technical operations environment. Experience with performance tuning of a Java based application handling high volume. Able to lead team of developers from onshore and offshore. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Ability to perform and conduct design reviews, ensure the design is compliant with standards and traceable to requirements and Sign-off design documents. Multi-tasks while working on multiple development projects and teams. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate
with IT leadership and business partners on a daily basis to deliver technically sound and cost effective solutions.

Position Summary
The Sr Application Development Analyst is proficient in all critical functions for the application(s) assigned, and is expected to champion SDLC methods and best practices on the team to ensure quality standards are met. This role is also responsible for the design/redesign, development and implementation of technical solutions, incorporating peripheral knowledge of other internal applications and related technologies in the analysis and design and is expected to adhere to established methodologies, standards and guidelines.

Duties
Responsible to work independently or participate in small to mid-size projects completing complex work requests under minimal guidance. Accountable to formulate/define system scope and objectives for deliverables ensuring established timelines and cost estimates are maintained. Provide ongoing production support and maintenance as assigned, which may include rotational 24x7 on-call support or code implementation efforts. Present information and respond to questions either one-on-one or to groups, including formal presentations and regular status to management and business partners. Share technical and business expertise with other team members and business partners. Work to understand business, functional and technical issues to effectively apply technical solutions. Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and desired results. Participate in internal quality assurance review and post implementation support and system enhancements. Facilitate meetings with both technical and business audiences, often across multiple functional departments. May instruct, direct and check the work of other staff assigned to the project. Identify areas for improvement, present recommendations and champion changes. Keep apprised on industry best practices.

Experience
At least 6 or more years of relevant application development experience in referenced skill sets. Must be proficient in Microsoft Access 2003 and 2007 as well as Visual Basic Application (VBA) programming Demonstrated successful completion of several small scope projects with proficiency working on all phases of SDLC. Solid knowledge of and experience with problem determination and resolution through research and fact-finding. Clear and concise communication and presentation skills are required to facilitate meetings with both technical and business audiences, often across multiple functional departments.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar is preferred. If no degree, then one additional year of experience is required for each year of college not attained. High School Diploma or GED is a required.
