Technical Environments Infrastructure Manager - Investment Banking

I have an exciting opportunity working for a leading investment bank based in the city. My client is after a strong and experienced technical environments manager to work within the on tech delivery and environments department of this top investment bank. You will ensure suitable environment provision and availability. Direct and indirect management of the engineering resources and activities required to build and support environments to agreed specifications, quality, time and budget. Alongside this you will have an appreciation of the roles and interactions between application components and technologies such as Servers (Physical and Virtual), OSs (Suse and RedHat Linux), Databases (Oracle and SQLServer), Middleware (WebSphere or WebLogic) Networking and messaging (MQ or similar). You will support computing platforms, storage and Middleware (web Servers, application Servers, content management systems).

This role requires a high degree of technical understanding with the ability to stabilize and improvement environments as well as managed the continuous delivery from the technology team. As such you will have strong influencing skills and be able to work between the environments team and IT Delivery team.

KEY SKILLS EXPERIENCE:

- Experienced delivering medium sized Infrastructure programmes and projects
- In depth working knowledge of IT hardware, software, operations and networks
- Crisis Management (Production Incidents, test environment outage) response and recovery
- Ability to take ownership of requirements and manage through to completion including troubleshooting, communication of issues and status, understanding of appropriate tools and resources to resolve.
- Project and/or Infrastructure Management accreditation (eg Prince2, ITIL)
- Strong financial and commercial acumen
