My client, one of the largest government bodies are looking to recruit based on a huge infrastructure transformation across enterprise systems nationwide

My client are in the process of delivering significant changes to the way it operates its Desktop Estate, introducing the Back End infrastructure and Front End changes to enable computing across a virtualised environment. This will deliver considerable change to the way staff consume and operate the Departments systems, driving improvements and optimising in the way that software applications are delivered and operated

The Technical director will be responsible for the design and delivery of end user desktop services, Business Transformation, Stakeholder Management, Enterprise systems integration, Large Migrations, Stabilisation of failing IT Infrastructure.

The technical director will come from a strong technical background and be familiar with stabilisation of failing IT infrastructure, Modernisation of Legacy environments Design and delivery of large scale end user desktop services (thin and thick client), Citrix, XenApp, App-V and AppSense product sets

The technical director will be responsible for managing large technical teams and third party suppliers such as HP enterprise services.

The technical director will contribute to the corporate leadership and development of the providing a professional technical assurance service to the wider organization. Support to operational delivery teams through the provision of specialist advice and technical approval. Developing, publishing and revising the technical standards. Developing and implementing policy. Shaping the future of developments of innovative and stretching research and development programme. Collaboration with other Authorities to advance research and share best practice across all aspects of operations
