Technical Director, Data Centre Consolidation - Madrid

We are looking for a Technical Director to oversee a large scale Data Centre Consolidation Project for in international mobile telecommunications operator based in Madrid.

The organisation is a world-leading telecommunications solutions provider serving 35 of the world's top 50 telecom operators, their products and solutions are deployed in over 100 countries. Over 1 billion people globally are communicating using the organisations telecom products and solutions.

The role of the Technical Director is to oversee the consolidation and optimisation of the existing data centre as part of a larger scale migration project between two operators.

You will be responsible for the following duties:

- Leading the technical team and arrange a schedule the workload of the technical engineers
- Evaluate the feasibility of the data centre consolidation and compose and manage the project plan
- Designing and the implementing the technical plan for the consolidation and migration project
- Evaluate the and assess the technical risks within the project

We are looking for a Technical Director that has extensive experience in managing data centre consolidation projects and can display the following key technical skills:

- Familiar with current data centre Servers, storage products and virtualisation platforms
- Knowledge of mainstream operating systems and related P2P/P2V migration tools
- Knowledge of database recovery and migration tools
- Strong knowledge of application discovery, analysis and performance management tools such as BMC and ADDM.

The role is offered on a full time ongoing contract basis working from the organisation's headquarters in Madrid.
