Technical Developer - SAS

The challenge:
ART (Asset Risk Technology) is the Asset Risk system providing information on all investments on the Client balance sheet through a high performance Datawarehouse with a powerful analysis and reporting layer (SAS). ART will be a critical enabler for Solvency II (SII) as it performs part of the SII risk calculations and will provide most of the asset data required for SII reporting. We are currently in a transition stage, from project organization to fully operational. In the end state we will manage the daily operations, plan and develop releases improve the system, add functionalities and improve stability to add value to the tools we provide for our customers.

Your main responsibilities
Together with your colleagues you will be responsible for all system and application developments within the ART system. This system is based on the SAS Risk management for Insurance application (SAS foundation 9.2) with a Back End Oracle 11 g database.
All our environments run on Linux RHEL.

Your main responsibilities consist of:
Application life cycle management (ALM), improving the effectiveness of our systems and applications through active governance, development and maintenance. You will work actively with all involved parties both internally and externally to make sure that we continuously improve on our full systems.
Development, translate business, regulatory requirements to technical solutions and develop them in our system. In cooperation with our Business Analysis and Architecture teams you will develop the solutions needed to support those changes.
Consultancy, advising internal departments on technical possibilities and solutions. As we actively work to improve our systems and solutions you will advise on how to improve on the running systems as well as making client requests possible.

Your experience and skills (Generic)
A B.Sc level of education or equivalent experience preferably in Software Development
A minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience as a Developer
Highly analytical, able to quickly grasp complex problems
Flexible, capable of working under pressure in a changing environment
Communicative, capable of digesting/transferring information from/to different levels of professionals and business disciplines
Ability to work in cross functional teams in an international environment
Dynamic, open minded, energetic and resilient
Fluent in English
Your experience and skills (DI Profile)
SAS/Base, SAS Macros, SQL
SAS DI Studio and BI tools
Good exposure to end-to-end project life cycle of DW/BI projects, Financial services background or RISK experience is a plus
Preferably experience with Dataflux, Oracle RDBMS 11g and Linux
