Technical Designer

My Dublin based client currently requires an experienced Technical Designer to join their existing team in a contract role.

KEY ASPECTS OF THE ROLE

- Strong business and technical analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business and technical design needs and translate them into technical artefacts/documents
- Work closely with the Technical Architect and the Infrastructure Architect to review business requirements documentation, business process flows, technical designs/Infrastructure Architectures design and then update/create relevant technical artefacts
- Attend technical workshops during High-level design, detailed design and document technical requirements
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to analyze and document existing and future technical requirements
- Work closely with the Development teams to review technical design documentation and provide feedback to the Technical Architect and the Infrastructure Architect
- Collaborate technical, process and procedural documentation from multiple sources and update appropriate operating model documents and other project related documents, as required
- Liaising extensively with Group Payments Compliance and Risk departments, during all stages of the compilation of the process and procedures documentation into an overall operating model document
- Provide updates to Project Manager and other stakeholders during the full life cycle of the production of the relevant Technical artifacts/documents
- Provide support to business and test teams during all relevant test & release phases.

TECHNICAL DESIGNER SKILL SET:

- 2+ years' development/software engineering experience.
- 5+ years Technical Business Analysis and/or Systems analysis experience in a Financial Services environment, (preferably with at least 2 of these in electronic payments)
- Experience working with on complex projects with some of the following:
- Tivoli, AIX, Oracle, DB2, Middleware, Security, Web Technologies, XML,
- Experience with reviewing technical design and Infrastructure design artefacts, software development life cycle
- Experience working on large complex projects with Business and technology teams
- Excellent problem solving, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, managers, and subject matter experts.
- High levels of commitment and energy, ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
- Extremely thorough and structured approach to completion of documentation and diligence about updating this as changes occur that affect it
- Ability to multi task on various assignments
- Good listening and questioning skills.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office Products, Visio
