Technical Business Analyst

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Understand and analyse the needs of the business.  Work on projects to define, shape, review and validate requirements to Change processes, products and service offerings.  Evaluate and recommend solutions to address the identified business requirements to drive business improvements

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Elicit requirements using a variety of business analysis techniques including; interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases and workflow analysis.
- Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a process overview and distinguish user requests from the underlying needs.
- Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, evaluating output requirements and formats.
- Solve organizational information problems and requirements by analysing requirements, designing computer programs and recommending system controls and protocols.
- Design new solutions by analysing requirements, constructing workflow charts and diagrams, studying system capabilities and writing technical specifications.
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers/members to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: Functional Requirements, Business Requirements Document, Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs.
- Serve as the conduit between the member's community (internal and external customers) and the software development team.
- Collaborate with developers, project manager and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
- A strong understanding of the software development life cycle, database concepts and modern service oriented architectures is required

ESSENTIAL QUALITIES:

- Minimum 5 years' experience business analysis
- Experience with customs processes
- Experience with post services, express or parcel services
- Good attention to detail
- Problem solving
- Proficient with MS Office products, specifically Excel and Visio

DESIRABLE QUALITIES:

- Degree level or equivalent
- High quality interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Good presentational skills, English is the common work language
