TECHNICAL AUTHOR TECHNICAL WRITER

A leading Digital Media Organisation requires an experienced TECH AUTHOR to create relevant and effective communications for the products and solutions that their product team create.

This requires multiple skills combining internal comms, change management, marketing and creative disciplines.

You will work closely with the Product Director End User Solutions and other members of the Product Team to:

- Engage early in the product/service life cycle to provide guidance on communications and messaging to ensure good comms principles are Embedded from the start
- Write communications across a number of channels (Intranet, websites etc) that address the needs of that audience.
- As a team we communicate a wide cross section of audiences a variety of things, many involving change; establishing the right voice for the right audience is key
- Design and implement the environment where communications are hosted, specifically our corporate social network platform, Neo (a Jive deployment)
- This will require HTML, CSS and Adobe Illustrator skills
- Ensure tone of voice is maintained by and overseeing comms written by others and rewriting where required
- Creating comms that leverage the best of what's already there - sometimes the best communications will be a combination of external resources and new content
- Coordinate and manage multiple stakeholders (including external parties) to ensure deadlines are met.
- Champion the customer - ensuring that new services and processes meet the highest standards of consumer experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

You will be:

- Creating communications around initiatives driven by the product team. These include product one pagers, FAQs, launch notes, user guides and blogs.
- Working with stakeholders throughout to ensure your comms is having the desired impact and pivoting if required
- Leading the design and creation of communication environments, specifically our Intranet Neo
- Working with all engaged parties to ensure ensure the communication readiness' of products are championed, prioritised and achieved (as opposed to other team members who are focused on the technical aspects of a launch)
- Execute product delivery plans as necessary, and coordinate and integrate multiple, disparate streams of work.
- Own day-to-day product deliveries on behalf of the Product Owner
- Work with 3rd suppliers to deliver/coordinate their solutions
- Work with the delivery team to manage and mitigate risks and issues, escalating when necessary
- Display excellent organisational and facilitation skills, ie coordinating and running meetings

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

You will have a background in one or more of the following, internal comms, change management, marketing and creative disciplines; this role combines elements of them all.

You will have:

- At least 3 years industry experience, with some exposure of working within an agile environment
- HTML, CSS and Adobe Illustrator experience
- Proven comms experience, you can write great comms quickly that hit the spot with a targeted audience
- Extensive experience of communicating technology, particularly Jive,  and the understanding plays a crucial part between the technology and the user
- Demonstrable experience working in a highly collaborative environment, with focus towards delivering real business results.
- Experience of working on iterative web or mobile app product delivery initiatives
- Worked in a media, education, mobile app or games environment.
