Technical Author

Our expanding technology client is looking for a talented, enthusiastic technical author to develop effective customer facing and internal documentation for their innovative, award-winning software. Technically savvy and a self-starter, you will work as the sole technical author with product managers, software engineers, QA engineers, and UX designers to help build outstanding software that's simple to use and easy to understand. Our client recognises that great software is only part of their products and ensuring that products are well-documented is crucial. You will be developing a range of documentation including user manuals, online help systems, consulting methodologies, training materials, and self-service content such as discussion or support forums.

Essential requirements:

- A good background in creating similar user software documentation.
- Work well in a deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to understand complex technical concepts translate them into simple, user-friendly content.
- Enthusiasm and ideas for improving the users' experience going forwards.
- Liaise with multiple internal stakeholders (including engineering, marketing and sales teams) and external stakeholders (customers and partners).

Desirable:

- FrameMaker and similar authoring tools.
- Familiarity with Cloud or SaaS applications.
- Any knowledge of/interest in the Internet of Things.

Initial three month contract.
