Technical Architect - Java/JVM/Cloud, APIs - Agile - London - Contract

TECHNICAL ARCHITECT - JAVA/JVM/CLOUD, APIS - AGILE - LONDON - CONTRACT

We are looking for a high level, enthusiastic Technical Architect to join this large scale, fast paced, highly Agile team in central London working within a highly experienced team of technology professionals (DevOps, Devs, QAs, Product Owners, BAs, etc..)

The ideal Technical Architect will have strong experience in full-stack software development from software design and architecture through to development and delivery with a heavy focus on Agile (Scrum, KanBan, XP, Lean, TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment) and JVM technologies (Java is the predominant technology but experience in Scala, Ruby, JavaScript or other JVM languages would be a bonus). Building and scaling high-traffic websites and/or high volume transaction processing

As a Technical Architect you should have strong experience working with NoSQL databases (eg Cassandra, MongoDB), experience with automated configuration management (eg Puppet, Chef, Salt Stack, Docker, Ansible), deployment and testing solutions. Any experience of modern Front End web programming techniques, such as HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, REST, JSON would be a plus. Experience with a web programming framework such as Django, Ruby on Rails, Scala/Play etc would also be a bonus. Ideally you will have experience using and deploying on cloud based platforms (eg AWS).

You must be an excellent client facing communicator and have excellent knowledge of Agile methodologies, TDD/BDD, Scrum, KanBan, Lean, eXtreme Programming, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, DevOps.

- Highly experience in software design and architecture, REST/SOAP
- JVM languages - Java, Scala, Ruby, Angular, JavaScript (one or all)
- NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB)
- High volume, high traffic, highly transactional applications
- DevOps automation tools (Puppet, Chef, Salt Stack, Docker, Ansible)
- Agile (TDD/BDD, Scrum, KanBan, Lean, eXtreme Programming, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment)
- Excellent communication and team ethos
