Technical Architect

Job Title: Technical Architect
Location: Ottawa, ON
Rate: $80/Hr.-$100/Hr.

SCOPE OF WORK/TASKS
The Contractor shall assist the Client to fulfil its responsibilities; the activities includes, but not limited to, the following:

- Assist with the Development of the communication plan for every deliverable or activity in the project plan, and for the EA program as an ongoing improvement program.
- Develop logical, Physical and conceptual diagram for new or systems that are being upgraded.
- Present options and costing for new systems/business requirements
- Assess current environment and come up with options for cost saving, consolidation or streamlining of systems
- Architect the design to implementation of the DARS upgrade: zoning, securing data, short to long term capacity planning
- Architect the design to implementation of the new Electronic Transcription system: zoning, securing data, and short to long term capacity planning. External client's connections solution.
- Understand and decompose trends and business strategies that form the business context of the client and individual business units. 
- Identify the various requirements needed to achieve these strategies
- Participate in the Establishment of a set of principles to guide the selection, creation and implementation of business, information, technical and solution architecture viewpoints.
- Lead the adoption of these principles as part of EA governance and compliance processes.
- Ensure the EA program conforms and promotes federal security standards, directives and best practices.
- Inventory listing of principal network, data communications, server, associated special purpose devices and hardware appliance assets
- Inventory of operating systems, applications and services
- Assist with the development and implementation of technical aspects of standards and baselines for IT infrastructure.
- Provide assistance and oversight for the implementation of recommendations and additional safeguards based on various threat and risk assessments.
