Technical Analyst Non-Life Insurance (Brussels)

Je functie: Context of the mission
You will be working in the non-life insurance department. A good knowledge of these products is an asset since you will be confronted with premium calculation, intervenient
management, insured guarantees, … for these branches. It is essential that these data are correctly stored and managed as they are often used within our processes.
Your mission as technical Designer:
o You develop performing computer solutions that meet the customers' requirements.
o You challenge the solutions proposed by the functional analyst in order to make your program as efficient as possible
o You implement in Cobol your own technical analysis. You will collaborate with the .Net developers when interfacing our Mainframe programs with the distributed
computing world.
o You are very careful with the impacts of your solutions on the systems using our referential
o You give spontaneous feedback about the status of your developments to the functional analysts and to the project manager.
o You participate actively in the test activities, giving feedback to the test and project managers
o You will regularly suggest improvements to development processes as well as to existing systems.

Level of education required
Bachelor, master in Information systems, computer science or a relevant domain (or equivalent through experience)

Language requirement
English : Good/Basic
Dutch and French, one fluent and good understanding of the other one.

o Experience and knowledge of mainframe environment (IMS / TSO, JCL, PIM… )
o Experience in technical analysis and programming on mainframe using Cobol and DB2
o FTP/IP (File Transfer Protocol)
o XML
o Testing capabilities (HP Quality Center)
o Able to convert functional designs into technical impact.

Preferable
o Integration of different technologies (Wintel, Cobol)
o Knowledge of ESB (Enterprise service bus) principles.

Functional experience required 3-5 Years Experience
Mandatory
o Experience as Technical Analyst, ideally in large company, in contact with Business stakeholders

Preferable
o Some experience in functional design should help
o Knowledge of software development methods, for example, SOA, UML, Lean.
