Technical Accountant

This is a contract opportunity for a Qualified Accountant to help a PLC take stock of a newly acquired business and assess the accounting policies and procedures currently in place. You will be required to make and implement recommendations to streamline processes and procedures and produce a finance manual. The role will initially be for a month and will involve travelling to Knowsley to work onsite with the finance team.

Ideally you would come from an audit background and enjoy the challenge of turning around and tidying up finance functions in a short period of time.

You will need experience of the following:

- Revenue recognition
- Cash management and cashflow forecasting assumptions and verification
- Inventory management
- Payroll
- Accounts payable and receivable
- VAT
- Volume rebates/discounts
- Fixed assets
- Month end procedures and reconciliations
- Monthly management reporting
- Foreign exchange
- Reserves

This will be an interesting short term project to deliver significant improvement into a finance function. Would like someone to start 21st April.
