TEAM LEADER, ASSESSMENT AND CARE MANAGEMENT, OLDER PEOPLE

Dunoon, £32ph

The post holder will:

- Operate as a member of Adult Services Management Team, making a positive contribution to the Department's leadership and progress in communicating and achieving corporate, departmental and service objectives.
- Make a contribution to corporate working within the Council - for example by participating in cross service working groups or in Best Value Review teams.
- Act on behalf of the Area Manager Assessment and Care Management if and when required.
- Assist in all aspects of the operation of Assessment and Care Management and associated Carers services including recruitment, training and staff development.
- Assist in the production of appropriate local Service/Business Plans and other documents relative to the functions under their control within the designated Service Centre area(s).
- Assist in ensuring that appropriate quality, performance and benchmarking criteria are utilised or developed, and applied, in respect to Best Value and Continuous Improvement.
- Liaise with other departments/services of the Council regarding the development of service provision and modifications to service level agreements.
- Ensure that employees and/or any external organisations under their control, comply fully with Legal and Statutory requirements, in particular satisfy the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work and associated legislation and ensure that safe systems of work are used at all times.
- Attend Committee/Hearings as required.
- Ensure that the Council's Standing Orders and Financial Regulations are adhered to.
- To ensure the implementation and use of information technology to enhance the efficiency and innovation, quality of service delivery in accordance with the IT Development Plan.
- To agree a Personal Development Plan with the Area Manager Assessment and Care Management.

Provide management supervision/briefings to allocated staff

SPECIALIST SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- The post holder will hold a Dip SW/Allied Health Professional or appropriate Nursing Qualification has wide experience of management within a Social Work Area Team.
- Post holder can evidence operational management of Adult Protection practice.

GENERAL SKILLS:

The post holder should be:

- A good communicator of ideas, capable of team building and establishing a rapport with Members, colleagues and the community.
- Capable of effective leadership and able to command respect and enthusiastic support of staff.

STYLE OF OPERATION:

Managers must establish effective working relationships with colleagues in the Department, the Council, key partners and the community. They should cultivate openness in working relationships and facilitate opportunities for multi-disciplinary working between departments, services and in partnership with other agencies. They should seek to create enthusiasm for the Council's activities within the workforce and build support for service provision amongst customers. They should also advocate the legitimate needs of employees and customers to the Council.
