Teaching Assistant with EBD Experience

Hays Education currently has a fantastic opportunity available for a confident, experienced Teaching Assistant.

An inclusive mainstream primary school based in Liverpool is looking to appoint a qualified Teaching Assistant to work with their a number of SEN pupils throughout Key Stage 2. Prior experience of supporting pupils with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties is essential. If you have the patience and empathy to help vulnerable children progress in their education, then this is the perfect Teaching Assistant job for you. For the successful Teaching Assistant, this full time role will commence immediately until the end of the academic year with the potential to extend further.

The successful Teaching Assistant will be expected to support 2 EBD pupils in Year 4 and Year 5. Due to statement funding, both require 1:1 support for part of the week, so you the head teacher has combined the two needs to create one full time post. You will work closely with both class teachers to implement IBPs and to liaise with the the school SENCO on the pupil's development. You will need to have broad experience of working with similar pupils in a mainstream education setting and have the compassion to support and nurture each pupil.

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant post you will:
- Have a minimum of 6 months referenceable experience of supporting SEN pupils in the last 2 years
- Hold Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
- Have an ability to work as part of a team coordinating the care of a pupil (including class teacher; parents; school

SENCO; members of support agencies)
- Have the ability to implement and contribute to IBPs

Successful appointment will be dependant on obtaining an Enhanced CRB Disclosure.
