Tax Accountant

My public sector client require the services of an Interim Tax Project Manager for a period of six months to undertake a review of the taxation processes, in the areas of Employee Benefits and Indirect Taxes rather than Corporation Tax, and to ensure compliance with HMRC requirements.

Define HMRC requirements for employee benefits as applicable to organisation to include amongst other areas:
oEmployees with multiple places of work
oTravel and subsistence payments including pool cars and hire cars
oEntertainment and hospitality
Similarly define requirements for direct & indirect taxation including CIS, Import Duty & VAT.
Review and report on compliance with HMRC requirements and develop processes where improvements can be made.
Ensure systems are in place to capture taxation records are complete and accurate.
Monitor and Measure the improvements via the implementation of solutions.
Develop, if appropriate, methodology or tool for financial forecasting of taxation.
Undertake skills transfer to staff and improvement to Business Processes.
Any other reasonable duties as defined by the Head of Accounting & Finance Policy

Education/Skills:
- Qualified, by examination or experience, in current UK taxation accounting.
- Experience of working in a multi site manufacturing, or similar, company of around 2,500 employees.
- Advanced user in a range of MS Office applications.
- Presentation skills to demonstrate issues and solutions at both junior and senior management levels.
