Tactical Buyer - General Procurement.
Contract - Six Months
Location - Newport, South Wales

Outline

We are looking for a tactical buyer, to carry out local sourcing and operations activities, including selecting suppliers, negotiating and managing contracts, placing Purchase Orders, managing day to day relationships with suppliers (eg dealing with invoice queries) and carrying out projects to optimise customer value

Main activities

*Lead project teams for procurement projects up to €100k in value, contribute to demand management, challenge and approve specifications, and run the supplier selection processes in line with Airbus Group procedures.
*Negotiate, establish and implement project contracts.
*Follow-up contracts with contract reviews with Airbus Group internal customer base and suppliers, based on KPIs, evaluate and improve suppliers' performance in terms of time, costs and quality.
*Assess suppliers' overall performance and the impact of weak performance on Airbus Group; and initiate recovery actions when necessary.
*Monitor savings linked to demand management and procurement performance; contribute to Airbus Group Savings Programmes commitments.
*Raise Purchase Orders, obtain necessary approvals, communicate Purchase Orders to suppliers and follow up as required

The role is based in Newport, S Wales. Some UK travel will be required, including Filton
and Brize Norton

Experience

*Experience of working in a procurement function, including experience in the field of indirect (general) procurement of goods and services
*Experience in using SAP systems for PO placement.
*Experience in creating and running tenders using an E-procurement suite (preferred but not essential)
*Use of Microsoft Office
