Tactical Buyer

My Client, a world leader in design and manufacturing of satellites is currently looking for a tactical buyer for a 2 year contract based in Portsmouth. As the tactical buyer your role will be to provide local sourcing and operations activities to the clients sites in the UK.

Your responsibilities as a tactical buyer will be to:
Carry out local sourcing projects, obtain quotations, and place Purchase Orders for various commodities (Goods and services) using SAP-based Systems. This department procures and manages all contracts for the client that support the infrastructure (ie not materials, commodities and subsystems that make up the Engineering product) eg building maintenances, marketing contracts, IT systems, security, our sourced services.
The procurement activity of the successful candidate is expected to be in the region of £100,000 contracts (please note this value is indicative and flexibility is expected)
Deal with internal customers and supplier issues relating to Purchase Orders, deliveries, Invoice queries.
Support the local sourcing and Commodity Buyers: eg assist with supplier registrations on electronic tendering tool
Run Dunn & Bradstreet reports to monitor supplier financial health
Production of standard reports and metrics

Skills required:
Extensive background of Sap
Ideally a proven background with Oracle and E-Source.
creating and running tenders using an E-procurement suite
Demonstrable background dealing with internal customers who have a specific technical brief.
Solid knowledge of Microsoft office tools
Excel knowledge is required to an advanced level eg Pivot tables

The successful candidate will be required to apply for and receive a disclosure Scotland certificate prior to commencement of the contract
