Tableau Server Administrator

TABLEAU SERVER ADMIN - DAILY RATE CONTRACT - DUBLIN

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Configure and manage Tableau server deployments for high-availability use with large data volumes.
- Trouble-shoot issues with Tableau Servers.
- Design data models to optimise performance with Tableau server
- Recommend approaches to monitor and backup Tableau Servers and to provide for load balancing, fail-over and security.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

- Minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience
- Third level degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent
- Experience setting up and managing Tableau Server with large volumes of data
- Configuring and managing Tableau Server with large data volumes:

o Setting up Tableau data sources, filters, blending, joins, etc for optimum performance
o Trouble-shooting issues - Experience with analytics, data, databases or Business Intelligence preferred
- Knowledge of MySQL or other relational database and of SQL

DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:

- Ideally but not necessarily the candidate will have completed the Tableau Server advanced administration training course. Tableau Server certification would be a very strong advantage.
- Ability to design data models is highly advantageous but is not necessary
- DBA skills are advantageous but not necessary
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Ruby or Python is advantageous but not necessary
