Systems Release Deployment Administrator

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR (RELEASE AND DEPLOYMENT) - BANKING

A Global top tier Bank are looking to hire a Systems Release and Deployment administrator to work within a newly formed team.

OVERVIEW:

The ideal candidate must come from either a Linux/Oracle or a Windows/SQL but would be required to cross train in the other.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Support the build activities of multiple teams, delivering multiple releases of services and applications
- Seek improvement opportunities in areas of software build efficiency, code automation, quality and process improvement.
- Review and assess the risk of changes throughout the release process
- Demonstrate a process driven method of working showing attention to detail in management of release cycle, from technical aspect, in providing advice on installation and standard release practises as well as environmental standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships internally within Systems Group and externally with other departments and divsions to ensure proactive communication and quality support and service delivery. Demonstrate valuable customer service by providing effective deliverables, in terms of support, coordination, functionality and results.
- Continuously look to improve the scalability of the build and release operation

ESSENTIAL

Administration & Troubleshooting of the following:

- Linux/Unix PowerUser (Shell Scripting)
- Windows SA - Windows 2003 onwards (Powershell, WScript, Server Patching)
- Oracle RDBMS on Linux (Backups & Recovery - RMAN, LogShipping) OR Microsoft SQL Server (Backups, Recovery, LogShipping, Mirroring)

DESIRABLE:

- WebSphere, Weblogic, TomCat, JBoss, Glassfish
- IBM Tivoli Storage Manager
- VMWare
- Citrix XenServer
- CyberArk
- LanDesk
