Systems Engineer Job

SYSTEMS ENGINEER needed for a 12 month contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Erie, PA.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Define requirements and interfaces for HMI and Train Control systems for the locomotive
- Design, integrate, implement and validate Train Control subsystem functions, Human Machine Interface for locomotive, suitable for application in both English and non-English speaking environments
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements
- Lead/Support investigation, root-cause identification, and resolution of reliability issues.
- Interact with internal and external customers, vendors, and industry agencies
- Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
- Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
- Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews

What You'll Need To Bring To The Table:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- At least three (3) years of experience in an engineering position
- Experience with serial and/or Ethernet communication
- Experience in human factors, simulating or implementing Human Machine Interfaces
- Ability and willingness to work "hands-on" in test labs and on locomotives with high HP (1000 KVA), medium voltage (2 KV) and high current (10 KA) systems

Bonus Points! Preferred Skills:
- Experience with system and component level validation testing
- Experience with transportation/locomotive systems, control, diagnostics, design and test
- Experience with Human Machine Interface and human factors analysis for Embedded systems
- Experience with Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) tools, FMEA
