Our Defence client requires a Systems Engineer with Avionics integration and Test & Evaluation background.

This role will be to lead and support projects, coordinate, and work effectively with team members from various functions across multiple customers (internal and external) for production and fielded programs.
Main responsibilities:

Support the upfront development, interpretation, and understanding of customer requirements. Develop and recommend aircraft configurations and product improvements that satisfy customer requirements. Manage requirements using the DOORS tool including requirements allocation, verification and validation. Develop Statements of Work (SOW) for large complex programs, Engineering Change Proposals, and smaller Engineering Services Tasks.

Identify risks, issues and opportunities and develop mitigation plans. Review and negotiate engineering estimates with the IPTs and internal customers. Lead and support elements of the project(s) and be responsible for technical execution in accordance with SOWs and effectively manage change throughout the project. Ensure engineering resource requirements and staffing forecasts are identified and maintained throughout the project life cycle. Develop and coordinate test plans for components and subsystems, support test activities on aircraft and author test reports. Interface with customer and supplier counterparts in the execution of test goals and objectives.

Demonstrates the ability to plan work, and develop/use meaningful metrics to evaluate project status. Other job responsibilities may include supporting Business Development (marketing assist and proposal development), Contracts & Scheduling (proposal support, contractual deliverables and schedule updates), Export Compliance (technical support of Technical Assistance Agreement (TAA's), Manufacturing License Agreement (MLA's) and supporting the investigation of aircraft field service issues.

Experience required:

This candidate should possess an avionics background with experience in planning and supporting Trials and Evaluation assessments including documentation. Strong communication skills, technical competency, and skills with project management concepts/tools are essential.

Chinook experience and product knowledge is highly desired, however any rotary wing platform will be considered. Customer interface and some travel is expected.
