Systems Architect Job

SYSTEMS ARCHITECT needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in PALO ALTO, CA.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Virtualization platforms (VMware, Xen) or Operating Systems (Linux, Solaris).
- ANSI C programming experience
- Linux Kernel and Kernel module development

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Design, implementation supervision, and support of next gen hardware and software infrastructure for HANA cloud computing initiatives both within SAP and with partners
- Serve as a primary architect for the HANA systems engineering team in enterprise cloud
- Drive the evaluation and adoption of emerging VM/container technologies in support of HANA cloud computing initiatives
- Engage with HANA development team to incorporate next generation/cloud-based technologies into platform/product
- Serve as key technical lead for partner-based projects
- Communicate high-level business impact and technical strategy to Executive Management.
- Coach and mentor technologies to other members of the technical team
- Help drive the investigation and specification of system solutions involving the integration of multiple layers of the SAP stack, including applications, database, system software, and hardware.
- Work closely with systems engineers to realize solution vision through engineering definition and "hands on" engineering and development activities

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering.
- World-class innovator, deep understanding, and hands-on comfort with hardware systems and building Virtualization platforms (VMware, Xen) or Operating Systems (Linux, Solaris).
- At least ten (10) years of ANSI C programming experience developing software for Linux systems.
- Applicant must have significant experience in several of the following: Linux Kernel and Kernel module development. Linux driver development (eg memory management, IO drivers).
- Embedded/custom Linux distribution development/management (eg Suse, Redhat) and/or in distributed cluster frameworks (YARN, Mesos) and development of distributed resource schedulers.
- Proficient in network protocols and stack (Ethernet, RDMA, Infiniband)
- Demonstrated capability to triage and multitask effectively under pressure.
- Willingness to interact extensively with customers to assist with implementation/network Architecture or service-related issues.
- Strong executive-level oral and written communication skills and customer orientation
- Technical project management experience
- Ten (10) years of in-depth experience with architecting, planning, designing and executing systems-related projects within enterprise, hosting, and/or cloud-centric data centers
- Five (5) years of project management/management experience in fast paced environment
