Excellent opportunity for a system support engineer/developer to join Capita's Property and Infrastructure IT team 'Firstpoint' working on mission-critical software solutions. You must have a solid software development background and be confident in your programming skills in order to analyse, troubleshoot and fix existing software products.

Essentially, the successful candidate will have a proven commercial experience of software development specifically within a .NET framework environment using VB or C#. Use of Visual Studio 2010, Java, Windows 2008, SQL, MS Access and application server setup/configuration are essential skills required.

The role of Systems Analyst will primarily be to support and troubleshoot existing internal and 3rd party applications. With 3rd Party systems you may need to actively work with external vendors should a problem arise. The Systems Analyst will be responsible for reviewing current system documentation and working to suggest enhancements for future support of the systems and recommend any potential improvements.

The role will be working alongside technical consultants and project managers but you will be required to manage your own work load. The role will be based from the London office but there may be a requirement to travel around the UK to engage with the business at a number of locations.

Key areas of responsibility

* Working closely with the London IT team of business/system analysts, developers to gain knowledge of the current setup
* Support/troubleshoot/fix existing internal/3rd party applications
* Enhance key system support documentation
