JOB DESCRIPTION: Linux Systems Administrator position to manage the Open Source Technology Center infrastructure environment that consists of OpenSUSE machines running a number of services including Open Build System (OBS), JIRA, Apache, Drupal running under Xen.

In addition, the candidate will also be administrating a number of machines that build source code like the Android build system (buildbot) and managing webservers as well.

Candidate is expected to debug issues, perform maintenance like patching, dispatching tickets, and security updates.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Build, assemble, and configure hardware in prototype and production Servers.
- Root cause hardware issues and manage spares inventory required to keep the Servers operational.
- Manage network connectivity and Switches to support remote access functionality for a diverse user community.

QUALIFICATIONS :

- 3+ years experience as a Linux System Administrator
- Ability to write Shell Scripts for system administration
- Ability to patch the latest Linux Kernel
- Ability to debug an OS issue in the Linux system
- Ability to adapt the Redhat OS for unsupported hardware
- Ability to work under pressure in a small team, develop plans for future projects that highlight the features of new products, and recommend enhancements to stakeholders
- Manage stakeholder expectations and deliver best-of-breed support to all projects and users
- Demonstrated initiative and self-motivation in proactively scheduling tasks and projects
- Ability to operate within the team, following processes and working within the team to improve processes
- Must be able to work on site at least 95% of the time
