Systems Administrator

Our client is a global payments technology company seeking a SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR to be responsible for providing systems and application support across, in particular the corporate systems environment. This position requires applying root cause operation break fixes and other proactive maintenance activities to keep the services up and running. This is a professional level position and requires strong execution and analytical abilities.

THIS POSITION WILL BE 4 DAYS A WEEK, 4 - 10 HOUR SHIFTS.

With minimal guidance, the candidate will lead and participate in the determination of root causes for service failure and support escalation, using knowledge and experience of VMWare ESX vSphere, UCS, Cisco Vblock, Server Blade technology (Cisco/HP), Unix (AIX, Linux) and Windows 2008.

JOB SCOPE:

- Provide automation solutions of manual tasks performed by infrastructure support.
- Develop solutions using available tools and technologies and assist the global team in problem resolution by hands-on participation.
- Operate in complex, highly-secure, and highly-available, operations environments and interact with the technology domain experts required to maintain those environments.
- Support the development and incorporation of best practices and approaches into the company´s processes and methodologies.
- Candidate must have a strong demonstrated commitment to customer service, pro-active review of processes and procedures to continually enhance service quality, service delivery and support.
- Will work closely with areas across Visa including, Operations, Engineering, Service Product office, and Global Open System Development Lines.
- The candidate will be heavily involved in ensuring team meets all SLA's and team objectives.
- Must have a strong commitment to execution, follow through and timely communication.
- Execute decisive action to preserve and maintain service availability, performance, integrity, capacity and security

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 4-8 years' experience in an application hosting, enterprise or data center environment
- 1-2 years of experience with automation technologies including Windows Scripting and automation
- Shared infrastructure support ie HP blade server/Cisco Blade (UCS/Vblock Infrastructure, Cisco, EMC, VMWare)
- Strength in Scripting against Windows ie PowerShell, VB
- Core Unix Systems Administration experience required with some Windows administration needed
- HP Operations Orchestrator experience highly recommended
- Application development experience a plus
- Virtualization support ie VMWare
- Individual should be self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Sound planning, organizational and problem solving skills
- Candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical customer
- Strong project, organizational, presentation, and writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments in an environment that requires multitasking among concurrent projects
- Must work on site in Denver
- SCHEDULE: WED-SAT 9AM-8PM (4-10 HOUR SHIFTS)
