Systems Admin 3 (Linux) Job

SYSTEMS ADMIN III (LINUX) needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in MELBOURNE, FL.

POSSESSION OF OR THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN A SECURITY CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED AS A CONDITION FOR EMPLOYMENT.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- BS/BA (or equivalent) in Information Technology or related field, and minimum three (3) years related experience
- Understanding and or experience with Solaris and VM experience/knowledge
- CentOS experience (or RHEL)
- Experience with CentOS upgrades from 6 to 7
- Familiarity with details of operating system network configuration

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- System Administration of UNIX/Linux virtual server environment. Responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining Servers in accordance with established standards, policies, procedures and configuration guidelines.
- Performs software installations and upgrades to RedHat operating systems and layered software packages and maintains them in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements.
- Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum level of performance. Ensures server data integrity by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
- Conducts routine hardware and software audits of Servers for compliance with established standards, policies, procedures and configuration guidelines. Knowledgeable of networking associated with a LAN based server and workstations.
- Develops schedules for the installation and monitoring of local network and stand-alone information resources.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Linux operating configuration
- Experience with RPM builds for software packages
- Scripting knowledge for automation of tools
- Experience with system build automation (Kickstarts, Clonezilla)
- Knowledge of lab infrastructure
- Datacenter build-out experience
- Python Scripting skills
- Red Hat certs (RHCE, RHCT, RHCSA)
