Systems Accountant

Systems Accountant - Contract - 12 months - Central London - CODA Financials.

My client, a leading Government Finance department, is looking for a Systems accountant for a 12 month contract. The client uses a number of complex financial systems in order to manage its business and to assess financial risk including Coda Financials (v11.2), Logix, ACBS and REVAL, Cognos Planning (Analyst) and BI v10.2. Experience with CODA Financials is essential for this position. The key purpose of the Finance Systems Accountant role is to ensure that all accounting systems are operating effectively and accurately.You will be responsible for reviewing, testing and challenging system design plans and changes arising from new lines of business and accounting requirements; liaising and working with IT on service delivery issues; working with the Finance team to ensure the systems and tools are delivering and working effectively, also advising of possible improvements; advising and working with IT/finance on various system upgrades and other improvement projects; ownership and responsibility for the maintenance and management of the Coda Financials system, including user access rights and chart of accounts; general administration of the Cognos budgeting and planning system. You must have knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, (ideally CIMA, ACCA qualified or part qualified); strong XL skills, data mining and SQL query writing; experience of undertaking complex reconciliations. This contract is likely to extend past the initial 12 month duration.
