System Test Engineer Lead

The System Test Engineer Lead will represent the Test & Validation group on an engineering project team from conception to release. This role is responsible for planning and conducting a variety of testing functions to ensure that all products meet requirements. This includes: performing test planning, test design and test execution, defining and tracking status.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Review product specs and develop the test strategy
- Create test plans and track progress in dashboard
- Lead small testing team for Embedded products
- Attend project team meetings
- Execute manual and automated test plans to validate software functionality and user documentation
- Analyze results (documentation issues, setup issues, software bugs, etc)
- Report and track defects resulting from the test effort in a bug tracking tool.
- Work with software developers and other team members to help root-cause any issues found.
- Ensure all timelines are met according to department processes.
- Document deviations to procedures.
- Provide test team status reports to management and project team members

SKILLS

Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in a Software Engineering or Computer Science program are preferred. Must have experience in software and/or system testing. Good leadership skills are needed to work efficiently with various team members: testers, software developers, program managers. Ability to self-start and work with minimum direction is essential. Must have good design and test skills and a passion for quality and attention to details. Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills are needed, as are good written and verbal communication skills. Must have experience with a test management system and working knowledge of C/C++ programming.
