System Engineer (MS Exchange/MS SQL)

Our client, a major global player is currently looking for a SYSTEM ENGINEER, estimated starting date Mid-February 2015 until end of June 2015 (720h/40h a week), with possible extension.

DESCRIPTION

- Server monitoring, administration and operation, mainly Exchange and MS SQL Server
- 3rd Line support (troubleshooting, incident management, debugging)
- Design & deploy solutions
- Project related site deployment and integration
- Integrate solutions together with other application teams
- Executing planned maintenance (security patching, operating system and tooling upgrades, )
- Performance monitoring & tuning
- Improvement and extension of operational stability
- Creation and improvements of operational guidelines, implementation guidelines and QA documentation
- Disaster recovery design & support activities

SKILLS

- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Federal Diploma in Information Technology
- Advanced course work in technical systems plus continued education in technical disciplines is preferred
- Microsoft MCSE, MCITP or MCSA on Windows Server technologies
- Strong knowledge MS Server technologies, Exchange, MS SQL and Powershell scripts
- Experience with Linux is a plus
- English spoken and written, German spoken and written
- Some flexibility in working hours is required (occasional over-time or weekend/holiday work)
- Strong tracking, coordination and project planning skills
- Ability to identify and implement process and/or application improvements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
