System Architect

Background
Our central government client has a 3 month requirement for a System Architect based in Coventry.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
Being responsible for the System and Application architecture on which the organisations portfolio of services is based.

Skills/Experience Required
Essential.
Providing the Architecture Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting into the solutions procurement stage of projects. Strong communication skills - able to bridge the gap between IT and procurement/the business to drive efficiency in architectural design. Systems & application architecture (preferably in a mixed MS proprietary/Open source environment). Identifying and validating G-Cloud services as a fulfilment tool for DS projects. IaaS and SaaS specification. Implementation of the Government Digital Service (GDS) approach.

Knowledge of the deployment of:
o Microsoft SQL 2008 & 2012
o C#
o .NET (Visual Studio 2010)
o MS Reporting services 2008
o Secure Authentication methods and standards.

Ability to find innovative ways of solving or pre-empting problems. Strong team player to work with project teams and managers both in Delivery Solutions and externally with suppliers and DfE teams

Desirable. Experience of financial services. Understanding of educational data

Formal Qualifications Required
Desirable. Qualifications in Microsoft Strategy or Architecture
