Surface Finish Technician 3

RAF Marham is home to a range of diverse units, including the Headquarters of the RAF`s Tornado GR Force.

You will report to the Surface Finish Site Manager and are responsible for the undertaking painting and finishing tasks as directed by the shift supervisor.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Processing work according to schedule set by Supervisory staff.

Providing a range of routine support duties to include masking, preparation, surface pre-treatment and full paint strip to substrate.

Compliance with all Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental and Aviation safety requirements. Ensuring all applicable health and safety procedures are followed including COSHH and Risk assessment directives and that the necessary controls are in place.

Adherence to all correct trade practices and maintains high standards of workmanship.

Compliance with all specialist Air Publications and other documents appropriate to the task.

Ensure that all paints and associated materials are correctly stored in accordance with instructions.

Keep the work area clean and tidy at all times. Ensure that all waste is disposed of in accordance with current regulations.

Adherence to instructions regarding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE). Maintain and record all usage of RPE in accordance with the documentation provided.

Key Skills/Experience

You will demonstrate a willingness to support and assist the Site Manager with enthusiasm for learning new skills and undertaking designated tasks are all necessary attributes.

Previous experience in a painting or engineering environment is desirable but not essential.

You will demonstrate excellent man-management and communication skills.

Essential Requirements

Ability to work in confined spaces and at height.

Due to the location of this role, personal transport is essential.

Attention to detail and an eye for quality

Proven awareness of health and safety

Works well as part of a team
