Support Manager

Job Description:

We are looking for a hands-on support lead join my client's technology team. This role requires 50% hands-on application support, 30% team management, 20% process engineering.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Proven ability to lead and mentor a support team of about 5, communicating responsibilities clearly and developing solutions
* Debug and troubleshoot application data issues though SQL skills and a deep understanding of application data models and table relationships
* Driving the fix of major technology incidents affecting their area of responsibility and driving actions to minimize the risk of future occurrence
* An intuitive problem solving ability which leads to solution alternatives that reflect the lead's diverse foundation of knowledge, skills and experiences
* Manage the migration of reports from current reporting platform (Crystal Reports, primarily) to Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
* Identify and recommend application improvements that enhance the user experience and actively participate in the QA of new application releases
* Maintaining partnerships with members of the development community, infrastructure partners, and global peers and staff
* Develop a knowledgebase of known issues and resolution steps leading to faster resolutions times and greater self-service capabilities
* The confidence, focus, and adaptable communication style required to effectively coordinate the resolution of high-impact technology incidents

Experience:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science
* 5+ years of experience in an application support team
* Experience leading or managing a support team
* Must feel comfortable working in a high pressure environment with changing requirements.

Skills:

* Hands-on Microsoft SQL Server skills
* Experience with Crystal Reports and Microsoft SSRS for report development
* Microsoft ASP.NET Experience
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
