Support Engineer Linux

Eingestellt von CompuCom

Gesuchte Skills: Support, Engineering, Engineer

Projektbeschreibung

Our client is the premier home delivery grocery service with a great contract offering for a Support Engineer on their Logistics team. This team owns the fulfillment and transportation systems that make home grocery delivery possible, and they are currently building a lot of new functionality. Features span an order fulfillment workflow system, a warehouse management system, and a vehicle route optimization service.

You will help solve cutting-edge problems in distributed computing, quantitative algorithms, and usability. Technologies include Ruby, Rails, Java, MySQL, in house solutions, R, and others. This is truly an Agile shop: working closely with users, shipping code multiple times a day, a fair share of pair programming, and capable of pivoting on a dime to meet new business opportunities. The team is aggressive about test coverage, refactoring, and paying off technical debt, and has a particularly well-developed continuous improvement ethic and a deep sense of team ownership.

As a Support Engineer on the Logistics team you'll be responsible for improving the performance, reliability, quality, and operability of systems. This includes establishing SLAs, instrumenting systems for visibility, setting up and tuning services for high availability and performance, auditing system architecture to identify deficiencies, and working alongside software engineers to diagnose and resolve production issues, including some challenging distributed systems bugs. The role requires diving deep to solve hard component-level problems as well as stepping back to understand, analyze, and improve systems. Note that there are several career tracks support engineers pursue, including but not limited to support engineering itself and software engineering.

If the role and qualifications sound like a fit to you, please get in touch - we'd love to hear from you.
