Support Analyst

A top national institution is searching for 4 Support Analysts to join their office in downtown New York City.

This person will be working in a high pressure environment to support multiple operations using 95%Unix/Linux.

Some duties include:
- 1st & 2nd level support
- Troubleshooting
- Monitoring environment
- Supports Operations, Product, QA, and Development tests. Interfaces with QA to ensure operational testing procedures(failover and recovery) are incorporated in the QA test suites.
- Writes basic test plans and scripts, as appropriate. Create incident and problem management database records as appropriate.
- Follows ITSM practices in regard to Incident, Problem, and Change Management along with the creation of database records for these disciplines.
- Excellent event detection skills to recognize routine technical, operational problems and abnormal computer conditions
- Strong knowledge of software and hardware networking and desktop applications.
- Individual must be self-motivated, willing to assume new tasks and learn new job skills, and must also practice a positive work relationship with all co-workers.

Must have strong verbal, written and presentation skills, and be able to work effectively with diverse disciplines.

Technical Skills:
5-10 years using OVO, TIDAL, Linux (Redhat), Scripting (KSH, Perl)

This is a contract position however the client is searching for someone that will want to be there long-term (minimum of 2 years).
