We have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join the Development Management and Building Regulation department within a local authority based in London.

The purpose of the role is to provide service covering all aspects of structural design in respect to the Building Regulations and the provisions of general structural advice to other Departments of the Council.

Key responsibilities of the Structural Engineer will be deliver the following;

- Provisions of structural design advice and solution provision to the Building Regulations service and it's customers
- The facilitation of the necessary consultation processes required both with stakeholders within the organisation, and externally, in relation to structural design
- Contribute to creating and maintaining the service delivery excellence of the service
- Provide an effective and proactive structural design consultancy for internal and external stakeholders
- Resolve complex technical structural design related issues
- Develop the structures, systems and policies

To be successful in this position, you will have the following;

- A Professional Qualification in Structural or Civil Engineering, or equivalent
- Hold a Membership of The Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStrucE) and/or The Institute of Civil Engineers (MICE)
- Knowledge and comprehensive understanding statutory obligations affecting the work of the section, [particularly structural engineering design and checking, including British Standards, Euro Codes, Codes of Practise, Building Regulations and Approved Documentation
- Demonstrable experience in the design and detailing of building structures, including steelwork, masonry, concrete and timber.
- Demonstrate experience and knowledge of the Building Regulations and associated legislation
