Structural Engineer

Progressive Global Energy is currently looking for a Structural Engineer to join a leading Oil nad Gas company based in Aberdeen.

Position Responsibilities:

* Responsible for design activities within budget and schedule
* Prepare structural analysis and design deliverables to the required technical quality with guidance from the Lead Structural Engineer

Area(s) of Responsibility:

* Assist other discipline engineers and designers where necessary

* Ensure quality in project deliveries and that the Company and Clients Management Systems, procedures and policies are adhered to

* Ensure UKCS legislation is adhered to throughout the design of engineering projects

* Be knowledgeable of all Company safety policies and procedures that pertain to this area of responsibility

Primary

Responsibilities: To familiarise him/herself with the Company Safety Policy and to take all reasonable care to ensure that health and safety of him/herself and persons likely to be affected by his/her acts or omissions, as required under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

Minimum

Experience:

* Further Education Qualification, preferably BSc, minimum HNC

* Experience in a similar engineering role

* Experience in a technical environment

* Operational understanding

* Experience with offshore modification projects is an advantage

* Experienced in engineering standards, rules and regulations for offshore drilling facilities such as API RP2A, ISO 19902 and AISC

* Should be fully conversant with applicable UKCS engineering legislation

* Offshore survival and medical certificates is an advantage

* Have a good understanding of general and structural engineering principles including dynamics and non-linear methods

* Experience in calculating fatigue damage using deterministic and spectral methods
