Stress / Structural Engineer - £30,000-£35,000

An opportunity has arisen for a permanent stress /structural engineer in a leading edge spin-out company employing unique technology and expertise for the measurement, analysis and management of residual stress in engineering components. You will responsible for project managing stress testing and analysis activities faced in the laboratory and onsite worldwide, analysing raw data generated during the testing process and creating technical reports for presenting the results to clients. You will also provide client support as the Project Manager from contract signing to final delivery, designing, maintaining and repairing of the companies equipment, which includes the design and assembly of mechanical parts and basic electronics. Additionally you undertake R&D of equipment, analyses and methodologies used in the supply of their services, manage measurement and analysis records for quality control purposes, write and present scientific research papers at international conferences. This position will involve working throughout the UK and worldwide for period of up to 4 weeks, however 85% of the working time will be spent at the Bristol facilities. You must: Have a recognised mechanical engineering degree or equivalent at 2:1. Also important is that you have good skills in FEA tools and CAD software. Good command of the English language is essential due to the level of clientele you will be interacting with. It's desirable that you know other languages but certainly not essential. You must have at least two years experience in stress analysis - experience of structural materials testing is desirable, as is experience in the Nuclear or Oil and Gas industries.
